India’s Increasing Population: A New Threat

To say there are many problems in India, the root of every problem is somewhere inked with its huge population. Today India is ranked 7th with 2.4% of the world’s geographical area, whereas in the case of population, it is the second largest in the universe with 17.6% of the population.

The main reason of population growth in India is unemployment and illiteracy. It is also caused due to child marriages, polygamy marriages, man dominance in the society and no family planning. In addition to, in which society the status of women is subordinate, that society has a high fertility rate.
The problem of population growth causes many other problems. The food produced every year remains insufficient and it becomes expensive. Because of which the prices of other useful items also increases. Unemployment, poverty, pollution, corruption, chaos, illiteracy, beggary, and other social and economic crimes are due to this population increase.

To control the population growth, it will have to popularize the programs of family planning in the public, and the people should be educated. The government should reward the couple who produce less offspring. The ill encourage people to reduce the child’s origin. The exclusion of more children producers at the administrative and social level can also be an effective solution.

The population growth rate in India, which has 2.3% in 1981, decreased to 1.2 in 2016. From this, we can expect that this rate will be stable in the near future. From this, we can understand that the measure of control of the population re getting positive results. For a better future India has to improve its present, only then they can give something to their next generation.

Global Warming: Melting Glaciers and Rising Sea Levels

Glaciers are shaping our world for millions of years, but its climate change warms the planet by which glaciers are disappearing not only altering the landscape they leave behind but changing our oceans, weathers and life on earth. A glacier is huge amount of ice which move slowly on land.

Glaciers can be classified to 2 general groups Alpine Glaciers and Ice Sheets.  Alpine Glacier forms on mountains sides and move downward through valleys. Sometime they create valleys by moving dirt and stones out of their way. These glaciers are found on every continent except Australia. Ice sheets unlike Alpine glacier are not limited to mountains areas. They found broad domes and spread out form their centers in all directions. As Ice Sheet spread they cover everything around them with thick cover of ice including valleys and even mountains. Glaciers provide people with many useful resources. Glacier provide fertile soil for growing crops and positive sand to make concrete. Many rivers are led by the melting ice of the glaciers. The most important resource provided by the glaciers is fresh water.

All the glaciers are shrinking every year. In 1800’s there were estimated to be about 150 glaciers and now we are only left by 25. The glaciers are measured by numbers of different ways one of the most obvious way is by using repeat photography where scientist go and occupy one place take pictures and then next year go at same spot take the picture from there to see the difference. Once you go every to 10 year you see a major difference.

Earths average temperature is increasing dramatically for more than a century. Glaciers can act as indicators global warming and climate change in separate ways. Melting ice sheets is contribute in increasing sea levels. As Ice Sheet in Antarctica in Greenland melt they raise sea levels ding fresh water in ocean every day. The loss of glacier ice also reduces the amount of fresh water available for plants and animals on land. Large amount of fresh water changed the Eco System of ocean water as well as oceans current. Additionally less salt in the ocean could disturb the gulf steam drastically changing the weather on land.

Since glaciers are so sensitive to climate change they increase the speed of glacier melt is the early warning for the rest of the rest of the planet. And if global warming goes unchecked many, if not all Alpine Glaciers could disappear completely.

Use Reusable/Recycle Bags

Plastic grocery bags that get tossed out end up in landfills or in different parts of the environment. These can choke out animals that get stuck in them or may confuse them with food they eat it thinking its food. Also, it takes some time for the bag to decompose. Whether you are looking for food, garments or books, utilize a reusable bag. This cuts down litter and keeps animals away from getting a hold of them. There are even a few stores in the world that offer discounts for utilizing reusable bags! All this is just to save the environment to make the environment pollution free.

These bags are helpful for things other than shopping too. On the off chance that forget your bags at home, purchase another one. Even better, keep a few bags in your vehicle so you never leave home without them. On the off chance that you are in a position where you have to utilize the plastic bags, reuse them whenever you go out on shopping, or use them for something else. Simply don't rush to throw them out! There are some states that are prohibiting or charging additional for using plastic bags. Using reusable bags helps the environment and your budget.

Also in Pakistan, The National Assembly Standing Committee on Climate Change said soon a Statutory Regulatory Order (SRO) would be issued to boycott plastic shopping bags in Islamabad. “The ban on plastic shopping bags will be imposed phase-wise,” the National Assembly Standing Committee on Climate Change chaired by Munaza Hassan in Islamabad decided.  (ARY NEWS detail)

From this August 2019 plastic bags will be banned in Islamabad hopefully according to the news! In August last year, New Zealand had become the latest country to outlaw single-use plastic shopping bags, with Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern saying they will be phased out over the next year as a “meaningful step” towards reducing pollution.

Minimizing Paper Usage

We have all had that teacher that needed us to have a copy of each and every single reading when we come to class, or that teacher who wanted a printed copy of the ten-page paper that is expected next week. These are fine yet it seems as if they don't understand that utilizing so much paper is harmful to the environment.

What would you be able to do? Ask teacher whether you can bring a laptop or a tablet to class so that you can download the reading material onto that and read it from that. If not, print on the two sides of the page to decrease the amount of paper utilized. In some situation if you have to turn in a long paper, ask the teacher to whether it is alright to print on the two sides of the page and clarify the reason you're asking. Most teachers care about environment too and would allow you to do as such.

Also don’t throw your notes at the end of semester in this way you are also wasting a lot of paper and for new papers more tress are cut down and deforestation is very harmful for the environment. Good thing in universities is that most professors need to keep their material consistent with guidelines from university. So this means students next semester will be learning essentially a similar material that you learned from a previous semester.

If you took great notes, request your professor to connect you with new students in a future class so you can give them your notes. These notes will help new students by having the option to read what they are learning in the expressions of another student. It is valuable to read things that are worded differently in contrast to what the teacher said. You may need to find a student without anyone’s help on your own.

If you can't get anybody to give the notes to, at very least, recycle the paper you utilized. Recycling is such a basic thing to do, however many people don't do it.

Over Population

We have in excess of seven billion people on the planet at the same time, and that number is expected to reach 9.7 billion by 2050, and 11.2 billion by 2100. While that probably won't seem like a terrible thing, we live on a planet that can just support about 10 billion souls, which means we're less than a century away from overpopulation turning into a serious and even life-threatening issue. As the total populace rises, the amount of resources accessible for survival decreases. Actually, the populace has grown to an unsustainable level.

Human overpopulation is among the most important environmental issues, quietly irritating the forces behind global warming, environmental pollution, habitat loss, intensive farming and the utilization of limited natural resources for example, clean fresh water, arable land and petroleum products, at speed quicker than their rate of recovery. However, biological issues are only the start.

The more individuals there are on the planet, the more they discharge carbon dioxide and different gasses into the air. The growing population comes with the expense of greenhouse gasses and environmental change. Until people understand that they directly affect these pressing environmental issues, their conduct won't change. Resources aren’t in every case sustainable sourced, however without those resources, the population won't survive. Ideally, we don't understand this short of what was expected.

Luckily, renewable energy sources are an incredible method to battle carbon emission. By rising the measure of sustainable energy, such as wind power and solar power, the resources required can be sustainable sourced reducing carbon emission. You can't change the population; however you can change what the populace emits into the earth.

Impact of Pollution On Pakistan

Social, environment and economic effects caused due to climate change are of incredible concern in developing nations like Pakistan. Pakistan is as often as possible facing natural dangers like floods and dry spell. These dangers, when joined with susceptibilities like poverty and wrong political decisions, make people more defenseless against impacts of these risks.

Pakistan's greenhouse gases emissions have increased doubled in most recent 2 decades. On a worldwide scale Pakistan positions 135th in per capital GHG emissions on the world. The agriculture part is the victim of unexpected climate change in a country. 65-70% of nation's population is directly or indirectly connected to agriculture.

The accessibility of fresh water is for the most part affected by climate change. The water assets of Pakistan are rare which directly relates with food insecurity, particularly in rural zones. The dry and semi-dry zones are the most helpless against environmental change as these areas are already into situation of lack of water and high temperature. The seasonal changes are changing sowing time for crops which thus changes water system prerequisites which adjust the properties of soil and increase the danger of pest and disease attack, contrarily altering agricultural productivity.

The ongoing studies show that Pakistan's 22.8% land and 49.6% population is in danger because of effects of environmental change. The diseases which are transmitted by vectors for instance malaria sickness, dengue cholera and so on that are the reason for low death rate in Pakistan are climate sensitive. Environmental change situations have brought about an increase in the epidemic potential for 12-27 percent for malaria fever and 31-47 percent of dengue.

So in the end there are many possible solutions available for climate change, like the most important is more and more tress should be planted. As our new government is doing this green Pakistan mission very well. Another solution is the garbage should not be burned or bury in landfills, recycling is one of the most effective ways to check carbon emission. Using Eco-friendly appliances and electric or hybrid vehicles should be preferred more.
Government should start taking this problem seriously.

Marine Pollution: A New Danger For Sea Life

Each year, billions of pounds of trash and other pollutants enter the ocean. The oceans have absorbed more than 90% of the warming created by humans since the 1970. Had that heat gone into the atmosphere, global average temperature would have jumped by almost 56 degrees Celsius. But as vast as the oceans are, there is a limit to how much they can absorb, and they are beginning to show it. Studies have also revealed that marine plastic pollution in 100% of marine turtles 59% of whales 36% of seals and 40% of seabird species. From the oxygen we breathe to the fish we eat, we all are linked to the earth’s oceans. Yet every minute, the equivalent of a truck load of plastic enters these waters. It’s time to see and feel the impact on the ocean’s entire living creatures. 90%of all life on the planet is found in oceans. Over the past 40 years population of marine species have been decreased half. Our vast oceans have been pushed to the brink and their ability to support marine life. This Trash also effects tropical forest in the ocean and has almost affect every species of plants inside the ocean. Many species are decreasing day by day which are alarming for the ecosystem and their Lives are at stake.

There is also some other factors which pollute the Ocean and in that case it directly affect our environment and also the ecosystem in the Oceans and those  include roughly 60,000 commercial tanker and container ships that ply the seas at any given time. The underwater rackets that results creates a kind of smog that reaches nearly every corner of the ocean and shrinks the sensory range of marine wild life. High intensity sonar used by the navy for testing and training causes some of the same effects.

Meanwhile in the hunt for offshore oil and gas ships equipped with high powered of air guns fire compressed air into the water every 10 to 12 seconds for weeks to months on end. The blast leads some commercial fish species to abandon their habitat a direct hit on the costal economies dependent on catch rates they also injured and kill marine invertebrates including scallops, crabs and fishes.

Sadly the human and the creatures inhabiting in the oceans are the most vulnerable this ocean trash. Approximately eight million pieces of plastic pollution find their way into our oceans. The rate of ocean pollution is increasing very rapidly each day. At current rates of pollution, the world’s oceans will contain more plastic than fish by 2050. It is mind boggling to imagine. Our oceans are drowning in plastic pollution and we must come together to tackle the problem and eliminate it from it very roots.

The least we can do right now is let’s start the fight against the ocean trash by celebrating nature, our planet, its species, and building a healthier and more productive future. Let’s start picking these trashes for our doorsteps and throw it to where it belongs and the oceans.
