Important issue that is destructive for our Environment is air pollution. The
release of harmful toxic gases from manufacturing plants and carbon emission
from transport vehicles are primary reasons for day to day air pollution.
Pakistan has all the environmental laws, but the government and citizens don’t
have the will to implement and follow the laws which are made to protect the
environment from air pollution. This additionally undermines the superiority of
laws. The Pakistani nation needs to develop a habit of using public transport
in daily life. Another reason behind air pollution is expanding deforestation
in the Pakistan. The air pollution causes respiratory disease and skin and eye
infections too.
One can see so much pollution (air and noise pollution) in the city. The
major difference is of population, Karachi is a packed city with individuals
from all parts of the Pakistan. Other than different situations, we have the
issues of transport and industrial pollution since we are economically growing
fast and every one of these issues arise from that. Karachi's main issue is air
and noise pollution which again is connected with the increase in transport on
the roads. Getting a vehicle has turned out to be so easy with the rise of
bank-leasing choices. It is however a decent sign as far as the developing
economy is concerned yet on the opposite side, due to the lack of
infrastructure pollution issue has expanded which is very alarming. To handle
the circumstance we have to build up a 'Clean Air Program'. Main part of this
program should incorporate converting over public transport on to CNG and
removing 2 strokes engines like rickshaws and changing over them to 4 strokes
engines.
Old vehicles running on roads is also one of the causes for air
pollution as these cars are not discarded of and in this way they include their
share in pollution increase. The "Clean Air Program" should also
include the retirement of old vehicles from roads. In developed nations the
more the car is older the more tax they need to pay on older cars. This
practice urges them not to keep old vehicles on roads. In Pakistan, low income
people keep old vehicles that have no precise standard to control the
pollution. In Pakistan we also need vehicles testing program it should be made
mandatory for vehicles to get fitness certificate every year without which
vehicles should not be allowed to run on roads.
